How could Jesus walk on water?
We are not told how God could suspend the laws of physics to perform some of the miracles found in the Bible, but we are told emphatically that they actually happened. Once you accept the fact that there is a God who is the all-powerful creator of the cosmos, the idea of miracles does not seem too far-fetched. Creation itself is a miracle of cosmic proportions so it would seem to be relatively simple for Jesus to override the law of gravity and walk on water.
The New Testament accounts reveal Jesus’ power over nature. He once calmed a storm (Luke 8:22) and called on Peter to come to him in the water (Matthew 14:29), so Jesus could not only defy the law of gravity himself, but he could suspend it for others as well. He healed the sick without having to be in their presence (John 4:50).
