Highway Connections is governed by a board of directors, consisting of 4-12 members.
Each member brings their own history, experience, and skills to the ministry that enables Highway Connections to effectively serve.
Bob’s father, Raleigh Huls, was the founder of Highway Melodies, now Highway Connections. He has a heart for Highway Connections because like his father, Bob also is a truck driver.
“I know the hardships that truckers have and how their jobs effect their spiritual needs.” ~ Bob Huls
Interim Executive Director
Joe has been a part of Highway Connections since January 2011 as a board member, and is currently serving as the Interim Executive Director. Joe is the owner of Oldenbroek Trucking, LLC and Logos Freight Solutions, LLC. He has a passion for the trucking industry and their families to connect with God and His Word in order for them to know and mature in Christ.
“My heart is to do all things for the Glory of God and for the flourishing of God’s people.” ~ Joe Oldenbroek
John became involved with Highway Connections because he knew Raliegh Huls, the founder, for many years. He has a heart for this ministry partly because his father was a truck driver all his adult life (he died while on a truck run), so he is very familiar with the issues that truck drivers and their families go through.
Highway Connections has always been part of Julianne’s life. Her grandfather, Raleigh Huls, started the ministry. He was passionate about telling the good story of God to those all around him. His vision and legacy of telling others about Christ and helping them in their walk is why she is part of Highway Connections.
“I desire to help others grow in their walk with Christ.” ~ Julianne Dusendang
After being a pastor for several years, Bob retired in 2015 and moved to the Grand Rapids area. He became acquainted with Highway Connections and was asked to be on the board and serve as a representative to churches.
Bryan has been involved with Highway Connections since January 2013 serving in multiple positions. He has a heart for helping others with their bookkeeping and computer needs.
Sue has been involved with Highway Connections since 2005. She’s married to a truck driver, and her father-in-law, Raleigh Huls, is the one who started the ministry.
“I love having the opportunity to serve with my husband, and to serve truck drivers and their families.” ~ Sue Huls
Cheryl has been volunteering for Highway Connections since 2011. She has a passion for creating newsletters and other ministry literature for the purpose of connecting truck drivers and their families with God and His Word.
“My heart’s desire is to do all things for the Glory of God with a humble heart and attitude.” ~ Cheryl Oldenbroek
